Sari Liimatta is an artists from Lappeenranta, Finland, working with
jewellery and jewellery sculptures. She works on the expectations, generalizations,
beliefs and symbolism around animal themes as well as environmental issues.
She has been observing how animals are positioned in ancient cultures
and still have a powerful role in our society.
Sari Liimatta received her BA in stonework and jewellery design at South
Carelia Polytechnic, Lappeenranta, Finland 2003. 2011-2012 she studied
Computer-aided design/3D Aamos Oy, Technopolis in Lappeenranta. She has
also studied abroad as an exchange student at Gerrit Rietveld Academie,
Jewellery Department 2002-2003 and did a Masterclass on Indian Popular
Cinema" at Universiteit van Amsterdam 2003. Sari Liimatta has been
exhibiting worldwilde and her work is representated in several collections.
