abstract paintings presented in my works are my 'homage' of the nature,
which makes us exist. We, human being, are the symbol of the flow of
past, present, and future, and the consequence of the long journey of
life. We are still going forward, and the power is beyond the time flow.
I believe that there is a type of collective unconsciousness buried
inside our subconscious and the forgotten memories of ourselves from
time immemorial. The interest in huge themes such as life and death
blooms through the encounters with microscopic and unfamiliar things
that are hidden in the familiarity around us.
The process putting metal layers on the object carved out of wax in
a bath by electroforming means life creation. Thickness of piled layers
represents time, and colors mainly expressed in my works mean accumulation
of time. Through this process, my works are born with powerful vitality
beyond the flow of time." - Heejoo Kim
