"Avocado
In my country of birth, the fruit of the avocadoplant is used in many
ways. I was surprised over the size of the stone which contains no more
genetic information than an apple seed.
So the inside of the avocade made me curious and I began to make jewelry
from it. The slices of the avocado stone are transformed in colour according
to light influence and temperature. When dry the stone, slices fall
apart and can be knotted to rings.
This was basis for the differently worked jewelry pieces:
- Rings from whole slices
- Rings with openings
- Rings with flat (not shiny), polished or enameled surface
- Rings with corners set in gemstones. Their shine only becomes visible
when the ring is worn.
